A song dear to my heart. Dedicated to my Grandfather Bernard Gelinas. Who bought me my first guitar and amp at 8. He taught me a lot about life and was like a second father to me. He was taken too soon, and this song is for him.Once I get the vocals

Story behind the song
A song I wrote a while back, but added the lyrics recently after some great help from Brad Miclette on some melody lines!
Lyrics
Exile -Verse 1- Looking back on our time Life’s filled with endless possibility You were taken too soon Never got to see the way you molded me Dreams and desires We shared so much but now we’re torn apart -Pre-Chorus- Laughing, living, the life that you taught me Crying, shaking, torn when you left me -Chorus- Find a way to carry on, without you by my side Taken was my best friend we must learn to cherish life Delicate creatures we tread on this fragile ice Cycle continues ashes in the end -Verse 2- See you in my dreams I know your looking down from high above All that we’ve been Never dies, it’s carried on in the ones we love Things that you showed me Lessons passed on to the young -Pre-Chorus- Laughing, living, the life that you taught me Crying, shaking, torn when you left me -Chorus- Find a way to carry on, without you by my side Taken was my best friend we must learn to cherish life Delicate creatures we tread on this fragile ice Cycle continues ashes in the end (Spoken) Unit we meet again C 2012 Sk Productions Words and music by Steve Klatt A special thanks to Brad Miclette for the melodies Dedicated dearly to my late Grandfather & Godfather Bernie (r.i.p)
