Story behind the song
After an acquaintance of mine died of a drug overdose in February 2010, I tried to use the moment to create a song based on the emotions, etc behind his death. This is the result. Written in February 2010 after coming up with the intro main theme (the arpeggio which follows the more improv-y harmonic/chord part at the beginning).
Lyrics
Skipping along through all the daily rays Of sunlight-esque joy radiating all day Jubuliant lifetime daily, KHK Let's go out for a joyride in the rain Mundanity is somethings such a pain Psycho Silby and Singin' in the Rain Miles away from the mountain refrain 'Xuding a lifetime anew everyday A life once lived is never forgot Leaving all the imprints on us that can be wrought A time well spent, a permanent stain On all of the hearts that made a contact with him A life once lived is never forgot Permanent markings of a soul overshot But now we must overcome Billowing feeling from this source As the sweetness runs through its course Energized internal eyes dart All cylinders pound, external part Mechanical recliner inside Motivates innocence to hide Shelter yourself full from the sun Let the world shame you and you're done (Chorus) What lies in the ether? Ever yonder? Beyond sight The question beckons an answer, such a cancer, all this doubt (Instrumental Section) Where were you earlier that night? Still here, or had you begun your flight? Stillness, the following day Oh lord, just take me away
