Lyrics
Don’t go into Carson’s Woods On All Hallows’ Eve when the moon is high, For Shadows Lake lies at its heart With mists that rise, the waters dark, And poor Mary David wanders nigh Another shadow soul. I knew her well, I knew her ways, As we were children of the town. I knew her laughter early on And oh her smile of fairy charm That smile all wicked warm. And as we grew, many people note We walked the roads our fingers twined As closely knitted, clinging vines. In Carson’s Woods, we cut our names into the hollow oak By the edge of whispering Shadows Lake. But time brings change and vines grow sere. Her laughter did not vanish in the air, But maybe was for the butcher’s boy Or the tavern lad who set the beer. Then dark my days and dark my nights As Hallows’ Eve drew near. That haunting Eve I called on her. I asked her then to walk with me As in days gone by to Shadows Lake While the sun set low and my spirit sank. Then her eyes were bright and were also dark, Then her smile was warm and yet wicked too, Twined in confusion they taunted me. At the edge of the waters by the ancient oak With our inscribed names buried under moss, I asked her why … why she had forsaken me For the butcher’s boy and the tavern lad, But she denied with her laughter shrill And her wicked smile as I held her still. Even as I held her deceiving head beneath the lake’s chill waters wake, Her eyes pleaded innocence while her lips did a wicked smile Or grimace make. Don’t go into Carson’s Woods On this Hallows’ Eve when the moon is high, For Shadows Lake lies at its heart Where a sprit will rise from the waters dark. Poor Mary David wanders nigh. I must speak lonely with her shadow cold. I must look in her eyes; I must look in her soul And ask as her ‘Jimmy Boy’ of old, I’ll ask why it was her love grew cold As the deepest waters Of Shadows Lake [Ghost Voice] Jimmy Boy, my Jimmy love, Come lie by me under Hallows’ moon. I swear to you I will pledge my love In the waters dark At the heart of the woods. We will lie together ‘Til the end of days

Intense and dramatic intro, followed by the imaginative background of drifting pads handling the fantastic vocal spoken story. Tense ambient soundscape with high visual feel. Great job.
From the opening atmospheric percussion to the brilliantly creepy lyrics to the creepy climax, this is a masterpiece from start to finish
