SOMETIMES LIFE CAN JUST PLAIN CRAP ON YOU
I play mostly alone but also play with bands we form for special concerts
Since I retired in 1996 I took up writing, playing and recording music as a hobby. I play piano, guitar, bass, drums, harmonica and tenor sax reasonably well but not great. I enjoy all genres of music.
Story behind the song
sometimes life just deals you bad hands
Lyrics
Hey You
Hey you, out there, what makes you think that life is fair
Hey you, out there, don't you know that they don't care.
Someone pulls a stunt, and they throw you out of class
You hop in your car and you run out of gas.
You get to work and in your place
Is the bosses kid, so you punch him in the face.
Noe you go to jail and the judge sees you
Then he says we're gonna make an example out of you.
Hey you, out there, what makes you think that life is fair
Hey you, out there, don't you know that they don't care.
The years pass by, your wife walked out
Left you sitting there, broke with lots of doubt.
Your kids are gone, don't you know where they went
And they don't really care if you can't pay the rent.
So you stand on the corner, your guitar in hand
The case on the ground, hope to make a grand.
Hey you, out there, what makes you think that life is fair
Hey you, out there, don't you know that they don't care.
Hey you, out there, what makes you think that life is fair
Hey you, out there, don't you know that they don't care.
Then at last you reach, that golden year
When your pension should pay for all that's dear.
But some smooth operator, walked off with the gold
And left you there, standing in the cold.
Some people stop to listen, most just hurry by
An I finally stop playing and I start to cry.
Hey you, out there, what makes you think that life is fair
Hey you, out there, don't you know that they don't care.
Hey you, out there, what makes you think that life is fair
Hey you, out there, don't you know that they don't care.
Hey You-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-----
