Lyrics
Jonah & The Whale (DeTrolio) Jonah man was my son, he was just 10 When I divorced he was in his room cryin’ No one’s had ta face it, harder than the kid has… That night he had a dream, of the ocean He was lost, it was dark, he was drownin’ Swallowed by a monster, all the water rushed in! Cause I Left Jonah In The Belly Of The Whale He had a tough time at school, didn’t wanna go As he grew, he cut out, through the window When you really do you try to show you don’t care He found metal & dope, let his hair grow He threw hands & hung out on the skid row Everybody knows, It’s me that shoulda been there… when… I Left Jonah In The Belly Of The Whale It ain’t fair what he’s gone through But the question’s where he’s goin’ to! Jonah man’s still my son, but he’s 18 Had a friend ask a friend if he’d meet me Now I’m on the beach, waitin’ on the answer I keep thinkin’ to trust me would be crazy I keep hopin’ he’ll show up but really How can he believe, or see me as a father? Then Here Comes Jonah From The Belly Of The Whale! Here Comes Jonah From The Belly Of The Whale That’s My Son Jonah, From The Belly Of The Whale!
