Story behind the song
A nutshell history of Paul's ministry, and the importance of sticking to the original good news ... the immense deliverance Christ brought. (in case you skipped reading the DEscriptION box) There's an audacious line that reads "maintain your supremacy." It refers to verses like 1 John 4:4b, "Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world."
Lyrics
(v.1) Paul the Apostle spread a new message of righteousness you cannot earn. The message reached into many hearts It was thrilling news to learn. But many of those who once were thrilled, they began to compromise And weakened the powerful gospel of God into half truth ... and half lies. Whatever it was the led them astray it cost them the gospel’s integrity. As more and more took the lesser path Paul found himself in the minority. Paul made it clear he was not part of those who did such a hatchet job. He wrote, “We are not as many, who corrupt the word of God.” (v.2) Race, and gender are just distractions. Same way with nationality. No matter you're status where you are, somewhere you're a minority. Things of the flesh do not concern God. They won’t give you an inside track. What keeps us in good standing with God is leaving His gospel intact. The gospel gives us domination over the wiles of the devil. That’s why he tries to water it down to a less dangerous level. And far too many are falling for a truth only half of what it should be ...trust the original gospel maintain your supremacy. (v.3) But numbers do not make a difference for those in God’s minority ‘Cause when you have God on your side He makes you a majority. ================================= (FOR YOU FURTHER ENRICHMENT: lines that did not end up in the final product) But many of those who once were thrilled started to lose the revelation. They let the heavenly message slip to a much lower elevation. We can take those things that make us a minority and made a big deal if we desire. We might even get some attention we might even kindle a fire. But God will not be impressed by the commotion that is stirred Things that ring in the ears of the world in the ears of God are not even heard. For God has His own minority group & those are the people that God will hear, Those who will not dilute His truth out of profit, laziness or fear. Skin can be any color of the rainbow home can be some distant place on earth But these kinds of factors do nothing to increase or decrease a man’s worth. What will be the real factor of success of a woman or a man Will be their response to God and the firmness of their stand
