Lyrics are by a fellow songwriter, I thought the images were great. So I took his words and put them to music.

Story behind the song
For the past week every time I sat down with my guitar to write something, I ended up doing this simple strumming pattern. I just kept coming back around to it. I was looking through some lyrics on FAWM.org and I came across these by Arthur Rossi.
"Nothing Lasts Forever" those words fit so well with that silly pattern I was playing with, the words have some great images and It was very easy to write once I started.
My vocal is not that good, but better than usual.
Lyrics
NOTHING LASTS FOREVER - Lyrics by Arthur Rossi
I wrote your initials in the sand,
and drew a heart so you’d understand,
but just the other day
the wind’s blown it all away…
(Chorus)
Today we are, tomorrow maybe not…
let’s be grateful for every moment we’ve got
together…
Time goes by so fast,
tomorrow we are past,
cause nothing lasts… forever…
nothing lasts… forever…
I wrote your initials in the snow,
to let you know I love you so…
and yet the sun of the early spring
did not leave a single thing…
(Chorus)
Today we are, tomorrow maybe not…
let’s be grateful for every moment we’ve got
together…
Time goes by so fast,
tomorrow we are past,
cause nothing lasts… forever…
nothing lasts… forever…
I wrote your initials on my heart,
it’s only there that they still are,
but one day when my life is done
even there they will be gone…
(Chorus)
Today we are, tomorrow maybe not…
let’s be grateful for every moment we’ve got
together…
Time goes by so fast,
tomorrow we are past,
cause nothing lasts… forever…
nothing lasts… forever…
