Story behind the song
I've been a huge fan of Enya for many years, and every time I listened to this track I used to jokingly play around with words in my head because of its jumpy and ye-olde style rhythm and melody. Then one day the words slipped out my mouth and onto pen and paper. The story is a Hobgoblin guiding you through an Enchanted Forest, showing you all the different magical creatures that dwell therein. It's a bit of fun, so enjoy!
Lyrics
Come to the land of Fairies, To the Realm of Elves and Unicorns, There is much to see here That I'm sure you've never seen before! Look, there are the Mermaids; How their tails shimmer in the light! If you're very lucky... You will see the Dragons take their flight! Ah! Here are the Giants! How they stomp the ground with a THUD and CRASH I find it most amusing, Come! We must be gone in a flash. We must bypass my brethren... They are Goblins and most devious They are friends with Pixies, And will play tricks on each one of us! Excuse me, my good Dwarf folk; Have you found the fabled Tarnhelm yet? Stay still; There's a Griffin! (Yes they're fine but don't have one for a pet!) Did you see that Sprite there? Why they fly with a merry "Ha ha, hee hee!" Gentle just like Wood Nymphs, Though they won't anger if you cut the trees! I hear a Centaur sounding, He blows the horn as the sun sets It's time to say good-bye now, Fare thee well my adventurer friends!
