I wanted to write some kind of tribute to friends lost over the years, getting older and it seems it happens more often these days.
Like Yesterday ©2013 Marc ‘Bear’ Grindle We all grew up together Like a close-knit family We were young and wild And loud and proud Hanging out on our street Then life sent us on our paths So we live out our day-to-day And then we hear that one has passed A brother lost along the way Seems like yesterday We were cruising in my Chevrolet Up for any game to play Having fun along the way Now we’re old and turning gray Hoping it will be okay Wishing things could be the same Back home like yesterday We always had a good time Couple beers and a bottle of wine Around the campfire we’d trade jokes As we passed around the smoke We were always kinda tight I saw him just the other night Now he’s forever gone away I still don’t know what to say Seems like yesterday We were cruising in my Chevrolet Up for any game to play Having fun along the way Now we’re old and turning gray Hoping it will be okay Wishing things could be the same Back home like yesterday
