I song I wrote back in the 70's expressing my desire to be married to the woman I loved, but wanting everything to happen in God's time. All these years later it's beautiful to see how it all worked out!

Introducing the greatest talent ever to emerge from the orange bedroom at my parents house. I play guitar like.... well, like a guy playing guitar. I tickle ivories. I twiddle on the computer. I sometimes enjoy beans on toast for breakfast. And in the cracks between the eating, sleeping, laughing, crying, working, breathing experience that is my life there sometimes slips out songs like these.

Story behind the song
So I was 18 or so years old and wanted to get married to my beautiful girlfriend Yvonne. We would, in typical smushy teenage manner proclaim our love for each other as being greater than all the raindrops in creation and other such stuff (Yeah... I know, LOL). But I also wanted to live faithfully before the One who had claimed my heart. I believed that God's timing was more important than my youthful desire! There's a verse in 2 John that describes love as being related to fulfilling God's purpose for life. That's not always easy. Particularly when your young! So it's short and sweet, overly sentimental, but I love it anyway!
Lyrics
Just Give Me Time (Daisies and Raindrops) (A pre-wedding song) © Adrian J Pratt 1977ish Oh Yvonne I really can't sing How much I adore you Singing just won't describe The way that I feel towards you I'm really yours and your really mine You're going to be my wife, Just give me time! Oh Yvonne, I know sometimes We go... oh so wrong, Just like the words I sometimes sing In my song... but... I'm really yours and your really mine You're going to be my wife, Just give me time! But until that day We've got to keep on praying Because Jesus loves us so much more Than I love you And love is obeying The commands of God That is what it says In the second letter of John So let's love each other just a little more, Yes, let's love each other just a little more.
