Story behind the song
I wanted to write a song with a mystical feel... this is what came out. Also has a jazz-rock flavor.. and I was trying for that. I do the vocals, electric piano, synthesizers, and lead guitar parts. Rhythm section is my San Diego Front Page band; Bob Lantis - Bass, Jim Moore - Rhythm Guitar, Scott Elam - Drums. The Saxophone was by John Rekovich.
Lyrics
Mystical Woman; Steve Domer 1979 Mystical Woman with eyes of fire like the morning sun You love to command the hearts and desires of everyone And when you go walking, on the street they're all talking as you by You're like a cat on the prowl in the darkening hours of the night Chorus: You live your life in mystery And now you've cast your spell on me You're a mystical woman Mystical woman No lovers before you were quite as deceiving or went so far But with a devilish grin now you've got me believing in who you are You're just a mystical woman and you have proven that you're holding me Just one wink from your eye can release this trance that you have on me Chorus: Now mystical woman, no men can escape your magical ways Yes I'm caught in your trap and I just can't shake your devilish play Now you're an enchantress for sure, and I can't find a cure for your luring spell I can't masquerade how I've really enjoyed how this curse has felt Chorus: You're my mystical woman Mystical Woman Well you're my mystical woman Mystical woman
