The inspiration for this song came from the Second Chance Divorce Group I was attending. Another pathetic victim in the group who was suffering through divorce had become fixated on finding a replacement girl of his dreams. Every time we went out to bars together he would say to me, "Peter, I can just feel it, tonight I'm gonna meet the girl of my dreams." I thought this is really what every man is looking for, isn't it? A best friend who is also a best lover - that's the kind of girl you marry (theoretically, anyway). In the recording studio, I sang 14 vocal harmony tracks to create this Girl of My Dreams so including the doubled lead vocal tracks, that makes 16 vocal tracks altogether. This is more than bit of a vocal extravaganza for one singer and this is where the many Peter Crosses singing together got humorously named the Crossants (by me).
