If it's hot then give God the glory. If it's not then blame Mitch.
I'm Joe Johnson a local United Methodist Pastor. Before I felt God calling me into the ministry I thought I was going to be a rap artist. For 8 years I did nothing with music until my wife introduced me to a group called "The Gospel Gansters" in 1998. It was an eye opening experience. I was amazed to see people using rap for the glory of God. That day I picked up paper and pen and I haven't put it down yet.

Story behind the song
I wrote this song 14 years ago. The story of the Good Samaritan
Lyrics
Lean On Me The road ahead is rough, the path is steep, I’m crawling on my knees can’t get to my feet The Lord appears before me in a haze Reaches his hand to me and he says Lean on me when you need someone to help I wont turn my back I’ll offer you myself Lean on me and realize it’s true You’re leaning on me and I’m leaning on you “Lord did you see what happened to me? I Got jumped by two foreigners or was it three They robbed me and they left me here for dead I but then I saw the preacher coming down the road ahead “Help me please!” I cried without another glance he pass me by on the other side I’m here all alone and I need help desperately” That’s when the Lord reached out his hand and said to me… Lord, no one cares if I live or die The deacon came by, but was deaf to my cries I’m sick, I’m in shock, I wont last Wait another coming up the road. Will he help? Should I ask? No. He’s a foreigner, the wrong color Might even be one of the robbers, they all look like each other I’m on guard as he comes my way But then he reaches out his hand to me and he says. I can’t believe this Samaritan’s behavior helped me when my own people wouldn’t. Now who’s my neighbor? We are God’sr arms we ‘re his hands When someone’s in need we need to take a stand No matter the race, or the color We’re all made in His image and we’re sisters and brothers. So Lord I’m leaning on You where ever I go And Lord there’s one thing that you should know. – You can By Joseph Johnson 9-18-00 Music by Quite N Play
