Story behind the song
pushing some snow around early am, and getting the question how am i enjoying retirement. even after nerve blocks on Tuesday, i'm not, acceptance isn't one of my strengths when it comes to this. (off to my nap now)
Lyrics
never really wondered what retire meant never dreamed i'd ever last never really wondered where the fire went cause it went out real fast never really thought much of passing time never cared to count the days never really thought much of that wasted life where every day was pretty much the same took an ember borrowed it from you slowly fanning it to life i still remember what that fire could do i'm gonna burn like that tonight i'm tired and i'm down but baby i'm not out this ain't retired this is now making ashes of those doubts never really wondered what retire meant never dreamed i'd make it that far never really wondered how my time was spent avoiding those truths by working hard took an ember borrowed from your soul slowly fanned it back to life i still remember your warmth you know fire smouldering in your eyes i'm tired but i'm burning now almost back to flame this ain't retired this is now time to burn right thru again never really wondered what retire meant never really wondered where that fire went still there smouldering in your eyes still there bringing me back to life
