Dan-O is a rapper and song writer of Jamaican, St Lucian and Barbadian heritage, born in South London. Currently signed to OneFold Records.
He, sights his earliest music influences to acts such as 2Pac, Buju Banton and Nas. He says, "I grew up being musically inspired to express my thoughts and feelings by these artists”.
“I'm into music that has soul in it and something that creates a good energy, a sense of purpose, whether it be rap, R&B, pop, rock music or whatever”.
Dan-O began song writing to reggae and Hip Hop, as time went by he incorporated garage music, performing in clubs and party’s.
Dan-O released LONDONACITY, a 12 track EP including the songs “Council Estate Prayer” and “Don’t play around”, which saw him go against the fad and create what felt like an uplifting, storytelling and a fun body of work. He showcases his creativity throughout the LP having written all the songs, producing some tracks, co producing others and co directing a music video.
He then released “FYI (NO WASTE)” an energy filled thumper. The style, artistic creativity and visuals made for an impressive experience.
