Story behind the song
Conscience cautions us, but we all too often stray anyway
Lyrics
IN THE FACE OF SIN The face of sin is smooth, And it’s clean-shaven too. Has a voice that can soothe; Bring false comfort to you. The face of sin is young, So appealing to you. It houses a sweet tongue That never can speak true. You can't fly in the face of sin. You can try, but you cannot win. You can't cry in the face of sin. Can't cry in the face of sin. In the face Of sin, You can trace Where you’ve been; See every Mistake That you’ve made. In the face Of sin Is a place Where all men See every Heartache On parade. The face of sin can hide Its tangled thoughts from view. Comes up close to confide Secrets that strangle you. The face of sin awakes Dark desires black and blue; Slowly raises the stakes -- Then steals your soul from you. Sin comes in all shapes and sizes - A face for any occasion. Sin can be full of surprises - Master of immoral persuasion. You can't fly in the face of sin. You can try, but you cannot win. You can't cry in the face of sin. Can't cry in the face of sin. Remove all those sutures; Break from that body cast. You can face the future If you face up to your past. In the face Of sin, You can trace Where you’ve been; See every Mistake That you’ve made. In the face Of sin Is a place Where all men See every Heartache On parade. Copyright © 2005 Lex Zaleta
