Hip hop emphasizing lyricism. Appealing beats with a unique sound.
Riot Squad: We are an extremely talented and original multi-racial hip hop group consisting of two MCs and one producer. The MCs, KnockOut and Versatyle, have differing styles and excellent chemistry together. Emphasizing lyrics and delivery, the duo combine to drop some impressive vocals, whether it be an introspective message-filled track or a traditional braggadocio-packed battle song. Casey Wells, the group's producer, is musically adept at many instruments and creates a vivid and unique sound. One that balances the line of credibility and commercial appeal. Formed in 1997, The Riot Squad have turned down several label offers and are still hoping for the right deal to come along. Listen to the music and judge for yourself if they have what it takes.

Story behind the song
This was Versatyle's creation. Casey had this beat for a while and Verse got a hold of it before me and went to work on it. One night while sitting in his car in my driveway he put the beat in and went over the hook he came up with. I liked it and felt it really fit the mood of the beat, so we started freestyling. We came up with various parts and the overall arrangement. All that was left were the verses. We went to The Boiler Room (our studio) to record a few days later and I had forgotten to write a rhyme for it. Verse had his and was well-prepared, so he spit first. While he was recording I wrote my verse in less than ten minutes and I think it came out real nice. We wrote the interacting third verse on the spot, as we usually do, and laid it all down. This was also the first time we experienced with a dual vocal recording sound, laying down our rhymes a second time on top of the first take, to see how it would come out. After the playback we all agreed it was hot and stuck with it. - Knockout
