Winston-Salem, NC based country music singer & songwriter
I am a country music singer/songwriter in Graham, NC. I'm originally from Winston-Salem, NC and, after spending time in Nashville in for awhile, I've moved back to NC. I've been playing and writing country music since I was in high school in the early 1990's. My greatest ambition is to play the Grand Ole Opry. To stand where legends like Hank Williams and Haggard played would make my life complete. I'm working hard at this career and I truly believe that deep down that God put me on this earth to sing country music. Only time will tell - I'm doing all I can do to make it happen. I hope that you enjoy this website I've put together. It will be updated often so check back from time to time. And drop me a line if you get a chance. I'd love to hear from you. Thanks, Brad

Story behind the song
When I graduated from college, I had a fear of losing the girl that I loved. I wrote this song one night and, luckily, it never came true. I ended up marrying that girl and I still have the guitar - it turned out pretty well!
Lyrics
Just Me and My Old Guitar c.2000 Brad Butner I used to pick this old guitar with Ginny right beside me She’d name a song and I’d try to do my best College days were perfect in our own little world Just me, my old guitar, and her I used to hammer on this Martin ‘til my fingers were blue I missed the B chord every time and she’d smile We spent so many nights on the tailgate of my Chevy Just me, my old guitar, and her CHORUS I played Waylon, Jones, and Jackson A little Hank a lot of Haggard And she knew all the words I played by heart “The Gambler” and “Mama Tried” Sometimes I could make her cry I never thought we’d ever be apart But now it’s just me and my old guitar I used to write songs about her, my way to say, “I love you” I never wrote a one she didn’t like And then we graduated and left that dorm room behind Just me, my old guitar, and her CHORUS BRIDGE It’s been years since I saw her Now I play to thousands every night But sometimes I’ll miss that B chord and I’ll smile And travel back to paradise… when CHORUS Now it’s just me and my old guitar Now it’s just me and my old guitar
