LITTLE WHITE LIGHT.

Sort of in the style of an Elvis Costello track circa Armed Forces, or early Tracy Chapman, or The Association. Its a song about that proverbial little white light that some people say they see when death is near.

Story behind the song
I began writing this song in August 1998 after conducting a newspaper interview at Book Soup in West Hollywood, but left it unfinished, putting it on a tape in a desk drawer and forgetting about it for years. Last month, while searching for a tape of my interview (with the actor Troy Garity), I found it and went, wow, why hadn’t I recorded this earlier?! I immediately finished what I’d started and the result is what you hear here.
Lyrics
LITTLE WHITE LIGHT Music and lyrics by Paul Iorio Copyright 2015 I don’t wanna see that little white light If you wanna live you’d better put up a fight I can see the future There’s no end in sight I don’t wanna see that…little white light I’ve only died once and that was in a dream I know what it’s like, if you know what I mean They say you see a beacon when you’re almost dead But I don’t wanna go there, no, not just yet I don’t wanna see that little white light If you wanna live you’d better put up a fight I can see the future There’s no end in sight I don’t wanna see that…little white light This time last year, almost hit by a car One step off that curb and I’d have gone pretty far All that night I was thinking, what if I was still unconscious and this was it?
