A song about being lonely.
A solo punk band with songs ranging from politics to social issues to evolutionary biology.
Lacking any real musical talent, I decided to use Punk-o-Matic to create some generic punk backgrounds to the various songs I had written. Recorded at low quality through a computer microphone, the songs are not musical masterpieces but the lyrics are still strong. Give it a listen, you might enjoy it.
Story behind the song
A song about being lonely.
Lyrics
You’re whizzing by at warp speed,
While I stand here staying still,
Unable to fit your basic needs,
Wishing some time would over spill,
Sporadic do our paths collide,
So much separation,
I wait for night, for even tide,
With a feeling of desperation.
When will I see?
When will I know?
Come back to me,
Loneliness grows.
Together for a short duration,
I piss away the time,
A clock gear acceleration,
The alarm’s cruel chime,
Time’s up, you rush away,
So quickly did it fade,
How I wish that you would stay,
Good feelings would be made.
When will I see?
When will I know?
Come back to me,
Loneliness grows.
And now you’re gone from me,
No lower could I sink,
A picture of pain and agony,
Or so I’d like to think,
Time once so fluid,
Is now rigid as a wall,
I’m trying to live through it,
How slowly those grains fall.
When will I see?
When will I know?
Come back to me,
Loneliness grows.
If only you could slow down,
We’d be together locked,
No more frets or frowns,
Goodbye the cruel, oppressive clock,
But for now I must settle,
For you few and far between,
Like a poet counting petals,
Or a lonely kid of age eighteen.
When will I see?
When will I know?
Come back to me,
Loneliness grows.
