A fast, punk version with lots of guitars, heavy drums and relentless bass. The lyrics deal with a relationship that's gone stale, and partners who have grown apart. The music displays a sense of anger over the situation.
One man recording the cobwebs of his mind; Shall we listen in?
One man singer-songwriter musician. Included here are songs written as far back as the late seventies, up to and including the present day. Four of the songs were recorded in the late 90's and make up an EP called Skies. Other albums include A Man Alone from 2002, and The World At Large from 2005.
Since then, songs have been released singly as they've been completed.
A new album is now available - Tales Of Love And Defiance (talesofloveanddefiance.com)
Story behind the song
Written over a few days in March, 2015. It's about the doldrums any relationship experiences, but I decided to stretch it to make it more extreme. Mainly guitars with a little bit of organ; I really wanted it to be like an early punk tune, just bash it out then end it.
Lyrics
The roads we’re traveling, are not the same
I think you know it, but who’s to blame
We spend each day, more alone than not
Afraid of losing, what we haven’t got
It’s not fine, it’s not fine, it’s not fine any more
It’s not fine, it’s not fine, it’s not fine any more (that’s for sure)
There’s no connection, from me to you
I can’t reach out, like I used to do
Could it be, that it’s now too late
No longer able, to communicate
It’s not fine, it’s not fine, it’s not fine any more
It’s not fine, it’s not fine, it’s not fine any more (that’s for sure)
Ah, remember how it was in days gone by
I said that I would love you, until the day I die
It’s not fine, it’s not fine, it’s not fun any more
And we’ve tried and we’ve tried but we can’t give any more (no more)
We’ve let the distance, between us grow
Until the emptiness, is all we know
There’s not much left, for us to say
And what is said, just fades away
It’s not fine, it’s not fine, it’s not fine any more
It’s not fine, it’s not fine, it’s not fine any more (that’s for sure)
