This song was written sometime in the 17th century about a Chimney sweep named Jack Hall who was hanged for burglery. Through the years the name was changed to Sam Hall. I first heard this song performed by Johnny Cash, I always felt it would make a great punk rock song. This is my attempt, I hope you enjoy.
