Mash-up of three favorite instrumentals from two of my favorite artists: 'Taurus' is from Mike Oldfield's excellent QE2 album. 'Antilles' is from Midge Ure's The Gift. Argiers was arranged by Mike Oldfield for his Collaborations collection.

Broad-based electronica. Heavy on melody and orchestration, light on dull, repetitive dance grooves.
I listen to a lot of different kinds of music, and I like to think that my songs sound different from each other, unlike some electronica artists. I've been told that I make simple loop-based programs sound more 'organic' and less like a bunch of pre-defined snippets of music just stuck together.

Story behind the song
It is impossible to overstate how much Mike Oldfield has inspired me over the past 30+ years. Although I was a little late to his party (Tubular Bells was released in 1973), I have been a fan since first hearing QE2 in 1983. Oddly, I've been a fan of Midge Ure even longer, having heard his work with Ultravox in 1981 with Vienna. 'Antilles' is one of those songs that I just never get tired of. My first idea to connect it to Oldfield's 'Argiers' seems inspired, but worked out much better than I thought it would. Adding the introduction from 'Taurus' also seems to work pretty well.
