If it's hot then give God the glory. If it's not then blame me.
If it's hot then give God the glory. If it's not then blame Mitch.
I'm Joe Johnson a local United Methodist Pastor. Before I felt God calling me into the ministry I thought I was going to be a rap artist. For 8 years I did nothing with music until my wife introduced me to a group called "The Gospel Gansters" in 1998. It was an eye opening experience. I was amazed to see people using rap for the glory of God. That day I picked up paper and pen and I haven't put it down yet.
Lyrics
I’m in Trouble
I’ve played with fire, I’ve been burned
I’ve throw rocks, I’ve been stoned
life of the party, now all alone
I thought I knew it all, but I had to learn
My life is in trouble Oh Oh Oh
Trouble Oh Oh
Trouble Uh Uh
Trouble Uh Uh
I went to my daddy said I was I done, cash me out
Give me the inheritance that I’m owed, no need to see me out.
So sophisticated, know more than that old man
My families haters, let em stay- till the farm turned into sand
But I aint the one, - Got bigger and better dreams
And figured it started.. in city.. with the party scene
cruise out in my new caddy Show them folks my pockets fatty
everybody’s happy. TELL ME NOW whose the daddy?
In less than a week, had more friends, than my dads every known
We’d rock the beat, Shut down the clubs, then hit after show
out of control living the life, My dadd never had
But my new friends and my new vice, all came with a price tag
The party, the drink, the girls. Funny, I paid for everything,
on top of the world, cuz I was known to make the money rain
But when my cash ran out, so did my so called friends
And I found myself strung out, inside this pigs pen.
Chorus
hit rock bottom, no copping, can’t go no further
Then my eyes were opened, first thought were of my fathers
Workers under his charge live a life more deserving
I’ll go back, I’ll apologize and ask to be his servant.
So I started back, a different person than when I came
On the way back rehearsing all the things I would say
Then at distance, I witnessed a figure in the light
knew him in an instant by instinct, I fell down and cried
Chorus Daddy I’m in trouble
(My dad said )
My son was lost, now he’s found
He went wrong , he turned around
Kill the fatted calf the party’s gone down
Thought he was dead, but he’s safe and sound
Daddy I’m so humbled
I’m so humbled
humbled
Humbled
