I have been writing from the time I could play my guitar at 12 years old, I'm 72 now and for the last few years I've been writing Christian music.
I'm a good ole boy from Georgia. In the early 70's I started a cover band, The Re-Creation. We played local gigs for several years. We all started having families and other jobs paid a lot more, so we gave up on music. I've dabbled in song writing over the years. I've been a Christian for a long time but, and as I've gotten older, I feel I have a calling from God to write Christian music. There are enough of my old lady done left with my dog songs. I'm sharing the good news of Jesus and His plan for salvation to an increasingly damaged world. My hash tag is #JesusLovesYou The love of Jesus comes before everything else.

Lyrics
Where this cowboy lays his head (c) 2017 By Donnie Priest Off to work before the sun rise Back home as the sun goes down Limping from the bumps and bruses Feeling like a rodeo clown When I walk through our front door I see that warm and friendly simile I forget about all my troubles When you sit with me for a while (Chorus) Hang my hat on our hall tree I put my boots under our bed Home is where my heart is Where this cowboy lays his head I know Ive been hard to live with Given you reasons to run away So happy you stuck with me Thank you is not enough to say I couldnt have rode this trail alone Without you and our family You tamed this bucking bronco Im right where Im meant to be (Chorus) Hang my hat on our hall tree I put my boots under our bed Home is where my heart is Where this cowboy lays his head (Bridge) Some time in the future Let my tombstone read This cowboy loved a lady She was all hed ever need (chorus) Hang my hat on our hall tree I put my boots under our bed Home is where my heart is Where this cowboy lays his head Home is where my heart is Where this cowboy lays his head
