Story behind the song

The Official Backstory
This is a song about Alissa.
We had a long on again, off again, on again, (and so on, etc.) relationship, and it seemed to come to a turn one Christmas where she confessed that she was no longer sure of who she was any longer. Citing being one way around her mother, another around this group of friends, another around that group of friends, and yet another around me.
Who is to say what is for the best, but us falling apart shattered me so completely I was never fully willing to trust again, and may never have had I not met Jade.
This was a song about my mind breaking down, written while this break down process was fresh in progress.
