Decaying Orbit is an unorthodox, highly diverse & genre-splitting band from Texas led by their infamous front man Mike Ash.

Decaying Orbit is an experimental, unorthodox, highly diverse & genre-splitting band from Texas led by their infamous front man Mike Ash. "No, this music's not about that, it's not about sound quality, it's about passion." - Mike Ash. Decaying Orbit is produced by their label, Decaying Enterprises Productions and has released many studio albums since they formed in 2008, after the violent break up of the Psychedelic Rock band, Strangefire, of which Mike was the former front man. Decaying Orbit believes in unadulterated musical & creative freedom, Mike describes their music as a "cathartic purge" or "nervous break downs caught on tape.". The band believes that creating music is a sacred, spiritual and magical art form brought to them by the Muses, wraiths and demons hidden just beyond the veil between the worlds of the physical and spiritual realms. Decaying Orbit has traveled beyond the veil and into the realms of the spirits, only to reemerge, like a caterpillar from it's cocoon emerging as a beautiful butterfly, so does Decaying Orbit get reborn through the fire of their cacophonous tunage. The band believes in complete freedom of lifestyle, I.E. sexuality, religion, spirituality, drugs, manner of dress etc. They believe that music is an interstellar language that needs no translation to be understood by absolutely anyone. It's the passion behind the emotions found in the music that matters to Decaying Orbit, they believe that integrity is more important than fortune or fame. Story behind the song

The lyrics to this tune were taken directly from conversations I had with my Mom(RIP), she would say, "Michael Wayne, Stop chasing the rain dammit!!!" and I would shrug and try to explain why it was harder than it seemed. her words ring true in my head to this day!!! sooo, sooo many lessons she taught me turned out to be spot on accurate!!! I know that she watches over me from the Summerland, before she passed, she told me that every time I saw a yellow butterfly that she was near. you might think I'm insane and I really don't care at all, but I see yellow butterflies ALL the time. I have even seen them in the winter time when they're not even supposed to be out!!! she was a Cherokee Shaman and the strongest, kindest, most compassionate, smartest, most down to earth, awesome & amazingly wonderful people I have EVER been Blessed to have in my life and I miss her terrible every day of my life. Mom, This Jam's for you. interesting factoid about this lil' ditty, I ran my multi-tracker through a television set for the playback because my stereo system was in storage, so the sound came out just a little wilder, also, this song was originally written for the Mike Ash album, "Solo + Madder" but was released a year later on the Mike Ash album, "Waxed" I can't remember why the switch now lol....
