Another Delbert McClinton song. What can I say, he's the Master!

I'm a guitarist, singer, and songwriter from central Kentucky. My music is a mix of many different influences; from the country and western I heard as a child to some stuff I heard yesterday. I was a full time, working musician for over twenty years; doing clubs and concerts all over the eastern U.S., but mainly in Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Ohio, and Florida. I have played every kind of venue; from the smallest, seediest club to 10,000 seat concert halls. Loved every minute of it. I also spent many hours in various studios as both musician and producer on a variety of projects. I am now a part time musician; I divide my musical time between writing and recording my own songs and playing with a great bunch of musicians in a band called "The Grandees". I write songs primarily to make you shake your money maker. I'm not deep, and I'm certainly no virtuoso. I just want you to have a good time. The songs I have here are from my second solo CD, titled "The Twisted Tale Of The Honky Tonk Monkey", which is available at CDBaby.com and my upcoming CD "Bad Choices Make Good Stories". My first CD, "All Night Radio", is available at CD Baby and fine CD discount bins everywhere. Thank you for visiting, and... TURN IT UP!!!!!

Story behind the song
I decided to do an album of cover songs. Several months into the project I realized I had recorded three Delbert songs. This is one, and I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed recording it. All licenses and/or permissions obtained through Loudr.
Lyrics
My baby told me such a long time ago She said, "You're gonna miss me someday" Now, My baby told me such a long time ago She said, "You're gonna wish you had stayed" Been a long time, honey, and I'm gone still I think about you some and I guess I always will And if I'm losing, at least I'm moving And it's easier to live with than standing still She called me collect from a pay telephone She said, "Who's gonna love you when you're old?" Now my baby told me once I was gone She said, "I've never known a man so cold" Now, women say funny things sometimes Especially when they're just about to lose their minds If I could change it, knockin' on wood Lord knows I'd box a forest full of trees down if I could Someday baby, someday maybe, maybe someday baby Oh, I don't know Now, I don't know why babies cry, why the wind blows No, girl, I just don't know But tonight I just might lose my mind I don't know I don't know why babies cry, why the wind blows No, honey, I don't know But tonight I just might lose my mind My baby told me such a long time ago She said, "You're gonna miss me someday" My baby told me a long time ago She said, "You're gonna wish you had stayed" Been a long time, honey, and I'm gone still I think about you some and I guess I always will Someday baby, someday maybe, maybe someday baby Someday baby, someday maybe, maybe someday baby Someday baby, someday maybe, maybe someday baby
