Story behind the song
*WARNING*
If you would rather enjoy this piece of art and have it come to mean something truly unique to you, do not read the backstory. Just as the band “Aerosmith” once criticized the music video industry of robbing fans from having their own visions of imagery associated to a song and supplanting it with some “official” footage, so too can knowing a songs backstory potentially come to rob it of having some special place and meaning for you.
Or both can exist. It’s all really subjective. Proceed with understanding.
Thank you,

The Official Backstory
This is another song about Jade.
We had a chance to reconcile the paths our lives were on in 2000. Between 1996 and 2000 we were on paths where we were drifting further and further apart geographically and, at least for them, emotionally as well. It came to light that despite the connection we had, Jade had managed to forget a lot. Sometimes I wish I had the ability to do that as well, but then, all of it would be lost forever if we both blocked out it all. I'm much less talented at forgetting or blocking, and there are both benefits and there are consequences to that. For what it is worth, I'm much less talented at many things. For example, Jade has an amazing capacity for forgiveness. I have almost none. Some say forgiveness is not something you do for someone else, it is something you give yourself. Maybe I'm not selfish enough to give what it is one gives oneself in the act of forgiving others. At any rate, I do not personally agree with that adage. I think forgiveness is something you give someone else, and I think it comes at an expense to yourself. In that light, perhaps I'm simply far too selfish to be forgiving. In my estimation, Jade's ability to forgive comes off as angelic. So, much hurt undeservedly thrown at them makes me feel vengeful inside, yet they forgive people of massive transgressions and move on effortlessly in a way I could never achieve, and I both respect and envy that.
But I'm getting off track - let's get back on to the backstory at hand.
I used to think of "Anthem For The Year 2000" as our theme song that year. It really did, for a while, look like everything we suffered apart was going to get made up for in the year 2000. During that period in general, the last few people I had been dating were all people with names that described weather conditions. They were also, coincidentally, each red heads. Not that I was specifically after a "thing", that is what happened. A friend of mine had dated over 20 girls in a row named "Laura", and whenever we would tease him about that, his comeback for me personally was "well you like redheads named after weather conditions".
I always had to struggle with my art as it concerned dating. Most of what I write is for Jade - yet what do you do with your art when you are making it while dating other people? People's feelings on such things are, in my experience, very delicate, fragile, and selfish. They WANT whatever art you are working on to be about them - or at the very least, not about an ex. So I felt I had the choices of either not making art, or lying about what it was about. I chose the second option for a long time.
Then Jade and I had our chance.
Jade assumed all the feelings expressed in many songs were intended for other people. Many of which were people whom were redheads named after weather conditions.
They were always about Jade, and Jade will likely never know that. To me, these are the "Consequences Of The Weather".

Everything is wonderful.
Everything is bliss.
Everything is tangible.
Everything I wish.
Everything is tangible.
Everything's delicious.
Everything's a candy cane.
Even Allouicious.
Hardly understandable.
Naive and pedantic.
Admiring and set a glow.
Devouring romantic.
Yearning unimaginable.
Desperate and fanatic.
Leaping in the world you see.
Trembling and Satanic.
Lifting all the air you breathe.
Filling them with roses.
Memorizing every scene and your elegant poses.
Remembering your attitudes
And when you fell too weak.
Remembering the helping hand
That brushed against your cheek.
And thinking what a time we had.
Incredible, bizarre,
Knowing we would never part -
But now we are so far…
