Decaying Orbit is an experimental, unorthodox, highly diverse & genre-splitting band from Texas led by their infamous front man Mike Ash. "No, this music's not about that, it's not about sound quality, it's about passion." - Mike Ash. Decaying Orbit is produced by their label, Decaying Enterprises Productions and has released many studio albums since they formed in 2008, after the violent break up of the Psychedelic Rock band, Strangefire, of which Mike was the former front man. Decaying Orbit believes in unadulterated musical & creative freedom, Mike describes their music as a "cathartic purge" or "nervous break downs caught on tape.". The band believes that creating music is a sacred, spiritual and magical art form brought to them by the Muses, wraiths and demons hidden just beyond the veil between the worlds of the physical and spiritual realms. Decaying Orbit has traveled beyond the veil and into the realms of the spirits, only to reemerge, like a caterpillar from it's cocoon emerging as a beautiful butterfly, so does Decaying Orbit get reborn through the fire of their cacophonous tunage. The band believes in complete freedom of lifestyle, I.E. sexuality, religion, spirituality, drugs, manner of dress etc. They believe that music is an interstellar language that needs no translation to be understood by absolutely anyone. It's the passion behind the emotions found in the music that matters to Decaying Orbit, they believe that integrity is more important than fortune or fame. Story behind the song
I recorded the original demo for this song on the voice recorder on the voice recorder of my phone while DEEP in drunken black-out. on a lark & before ever even listening to the demo, I sent it off to Jeremy Troyer AKA Je3r3my formerly known by the handle, Sonicism. Amazingly he didn't laugh and throw it away. Which is what I kind of, half-expected him to do lol!!!! But, no, he put some bass to it and gave it a nice new mix down to begin with. THEN, things got EVEN crazier when DrumnJon got involved and started chopping down trees!!!! LOL!!! and stomping his feet at the end?!? "A Downed Tree Gives Way To New Growth" - DrumnJon(regarding this jam, 2017). So, anyway, the song took on a new life of it's own at that point, it was no longer just a black-out-improv piece, it was a REAL song!!!! a Jam!!!! a TUNE!!!! Just like Pinocchio eventually became a real boy!!!! LOL!!! As did this song grow up to become the first Decaying Orbit single in 2017. From the Decaying Orbit album, "Paradoxical Symbiotic Mechanisms" Produced By: Decaying Enterprises in 2017. This Is the first NEW material from Decaying Orbit since the 2015 release of their album, "Bong Water Coffee & The Constant Struggle To Stay High" - which was actually recorded late in 2014. So, this is the first official recording in over 3 years. This single is off of the upcoming Decaying Orbit album, "Paradoxical Symbiotic Mechanisms" due out later this year!!!! Mikey Ash is busy recording songs for the new album as well as rebuilding The Morgue Studios basically from the ground up, him & J3r3my, formerly of Sonicism fame have been working diligently together in both of their bizarre, eccentric & unorthodox fashions on the new Decaying Orbit tunage. Their output thus far has been a true diversion from anything that anyone has heard Decaying Orbit do previously. The new songs are much more naked, raw and visceral, while maintaining a certain psychedelia & ambiance at the same time. They are straight forward and in your face, which is somewhat true for ALL Decaying Orbit tunage, really, but these songs are quieter about it. They have a 'Give 'Em Hell!!!' Attitude while maintaining a certain almost silent composure, even if it is a somewhat neurotic, antisocial or even psychotic calm, they exude the feeling of safety and of danger alike. These are our libations of sound, amalgamations of cathartic noise, a cacophony of madness that pervades your psyche, undeniably consuming your consciousness until you are merely an embryonic drone, writhing to breathe & withering in the sizzling noon-day Texas sun .
