Survey Your Cross (rewrite)

Survey Your cross ... Like nailing ones sins to the cross in ones life, it effects change to become more like like what God intends for the believer.

Many genres, Contemporary Christian, Lyrics, instrumentals
I write my own songs ;) I have a very diverse taste in music, from Pop to Classical, including Rock, Folk, Jazz, Country, World Music (Celtic, Romanian), Old Timey Stringband/Bluegrass, and Latin. All these styles are in my Christian Contemporary catagory. I usually write the music first, and then put words to the music. Though I don't sing good enough yet, I though I would put my instrumentals out along with my music. Generally, I think my music/lyrics are getting better, being more skilled now than when I started.

Story behind the song
This is a rewrite of the previous version of the song, also on Soundclick. I added a new melody for the 4th verse to accompany the words written by Isaac Watts for the often omitted verse for the song, When I Survey the Cross. Then, I added a new verse at the end, with a message of hope.
Lyrics
Survey Your Cross As I survey my wand'ring heart: How can my heart in Your sight be true? How can I follow, true to You? Then I survey, survey Your cross As I survey my fractured life: What, in my life, charms me more than You? You are my guest, but is there room? Then I survey, survey Your cross As I survey this broken world: What is this world of ours coming to? Can there be peace? Will faith last through? Then I survey, survey Your cross Your dying crimson, like a robe, Spread o'er Your body on that tree Now I am dead to all the globe And all the globe is dead to me. - (Gal 6:14) As I survey my future hope I see Your grace, and I look to You I'm not the same since I came to - Survey Your cross, survey Your cross David Davis copyright 2017 [fourth verse from Isaac Watts]
