Well, I haven't uploaded much yet. It's mostly going to be stuff from my days in my church band until I get some quality stuff of my own (which requires some free time). I'll see what I can do later on. If you're into Christian rock or just soft rock in general, maybe you'll enjoy what I have now. I don't know what I'll have up when I get the time, though.
Story behind the song
A couple things had to fall into place for this to exist. First, I found a site that would read back text in a computer voice. When my friend sent me an overview of a story he wanted to write, I decided that the detached, inhuman, urban effect I wanted was best accomplished by that very computer voice. I didn't edit the script, mostly because I felt that the typos and inconsistences added a bit of an unnatural slant towards how it was read. Next, I happened to come across a collection of urban noises (subways, footsteps, city noises, etc.) online.
The song (I suppose I must use that term rather liberally) began with just the story being read. I can spend a good while behind a piano just playing whatever comes to mind, and I did that for the song. I redid some parts that felt awkward, but it was basically just me on a grand piano. Nothing special, no sequencing, no added effects. The rest was just an attempt to recreate a city ambience to exist as the song's foundation.
Lyrics
There is a man whom lives in a world that is over run by wealthy and high power holding people. Where sex has become more than physical pleasure, but a way to insure the prolonging of this rich upper class. People hold stock in their own sperm and pay millions to mate with others of high class to ensure that their seed will live on and continue to hold a high price to ensure their own survival. But everyone who is not in this demographic is left to waist away in streets filled with crime and prostitution. Wars between gangs committing morbid sexual acts with similar motives of that of the wealthier class.
A boy in his early twenties, roams with these gangs, and holds a high level rank for his own history or brutal attacks and sex crimes finds what he thinks is love when he crosses paths with a wealthy debutant roaming the city with her friends looking for a good night out among the common folk that dwell and live in what is now a neo apocalyptic/McCarthyism major city. While her friends are beaten, raped and later killed and dismembered, the boy comes in just as she is about to be placed under the knife and they form a bond soon after
They engage in courtship for a few months thinking that this could be his way out into something better. He falsifies a new identity and moves near the girl and establishes a life as a new person only to meet the man mentioned in the beginning who informs him that this life is much like that of his own. After going through a bad case of denial he forms a murderous bond and friendship with this man and they go around making good use of their power and wealth by going into a graphic killing spree and find out that after getting away with everything they ever wanted they have nothing more to live for and in result torture them selves and each other realizing that mans only purpose is to spread his seed to live on in this horrid world that has been given to them and that its just not worth living.
