Phil 3:14, Heb 12:2 It's about focus, and looking more forward and less backward. We can learn from the past, but we don't need to dwell there. The carrot knows.

Many genres, Contemporary Christian, Lyrics, instrumentals
I write my own songs ;) I have a very diverse taste in music, from Pop to Classical, including Rock, Folk, Jazz, Country, World Music (Celtic, Romanian), Old Timey Stringband/Bluegrass, and Latin. All these styles are in my Christian Contemporary catagory. I usually write the music first, and then put words to the music. Though I don't sing good enough yet, I though I would put my instrumentals out along with my music. Generally, I think my music/lyrics are getting better, being more skilled now than when I started.

Story behind the song
A fairly fast and easy song to write, the first draft, at least. The second draft was also fairly fast The personified characters in the song, Lessons Learned and Mr. Anticipation, are labels given for the everyman or everywoman is us. Pilgrams Progress featured these kind of characters. We use this today when registering for internet forums or in Dear Abby-type media columns.
Lyrics
Keep Your Eyes chorus: Keep your eyes on the prize Keep your eyes on the prize Keep from distraction, There's enough of looking back Keep your eyes on Christ verse 1: Lessons Learned is leaving She leaves behind the past She is moving forward Fog is at her back. One will hear her sorrows This One will ease her pain He makes life worth living He is hers to gain (Chorus) verse 2: Here's Anticipation. He's wondering what comes next. Is it disappointment? Will he be perplexed? One will hear his worries This One will give him peace When his heart is given His struggles will ease (Chorus) verse 3:One Lessons has a purpose Anticipate can see Both are loved by Jesus (The) Way and go-between Bridges are a blessing There's no need to look down Be ready to look up Soon, we'll have a crown (chorus) David Davis copyright 2018
