Story behind the song
I wrote this in 1980 (yes, I am old) for a girl I was in love with Missy Swetish. I used to get drunk and play it in the dorm basement evry night till I was told to shut up...After Missydied in 1994 I wrote the calling section at the end. I still like this song.
Lyrics
The Way I Do (For Missy) c 1980/1998 Dean Madonia Is there nothing I can do? Is there nothing I can say? Is there no gesture I can make, To make you feel the way I do? I love you. I thought this time would be so bad But I don't really feel that sad And I'll say this with a sigh I don't have the energy to cry over, Over you But I do Ooooh. Is the nothing I can do? (now that you are so far away) Is there nothing I can say? (And all your color's gone to gray) Is there no gesture I can make? (I've found the words I want to say) To make you feel the way I do Oh, I love you
