Trash-pop, guitar rock and melodic miscellany.
Not so much a band as a bloke with a guitar and a laptop, The Smivets deliver a genre-bending blend of pop, rock, punk, prog and many other monosyllables.

Story behind the song
Actually written in 2016, one of a few I dedicated to my mum after she lost my dad earlier that year. He passed away just as Summer was beginning, and more or less exactly a year later I nearly followed him! This is a new recording, just finished fiddling with it this week.
Lyrics
Everything changes, Some say for the better Can that be so when all you've loved Is suddenly gone forever? In other years we held our tears As summer stuff was packed away But this time is the last time They won't be back some other day Hold on to your memories Hold them in your heart They'll ease the pain of letting go When letting go's the hardest part Things can always take that turn That turns out not how we intend Will you still be here after Summer's End? Never recapture You can't just press repeat Or ever hope to recreate Something so unique We weepers kiss and reminisce And treasure all we've known Grateful for what has passed And stronger for a future on our own Hold on to your memories Hold them in your heart They'll ease the pain of letting go When letting go's the hardest part Things will always take that turn That turns out not how we intend Will you still be here after Summer's End? Things will always take that turn That turns out not how we intend Will you still be hereafter Summer's End?

A beautiful creation Seth! Love the touching lyrics. It was a heatfelt summer here with the loss of my father. It’s so great to hear from you again! ROCK ON BROTHER!!!
