ORIGINAL ROCK, POP & BLUES......PEACE & LOVE ...... SIMPLE
WHAT DO WE DO? MOSS is a five-piece rock band that pumps it out with songs of social and political conscience. “Modern day griots” with a sound that gives a “hat tip to the seventies”. With decades of experience, you’ll hear the road in their music delivering something very unique in today’s contemporary music scene. Unapologetically a square peg in a round hole. Imagine; “Midnight Oil meets the Aztecs at Sunbury” WHO ARE WE? Suzie Craig: Lead singer Mark Simpkin: Guitar / Backing Vocals Ian (NED) Kelly: Guitar, Keyboards / Backing Vocals Justin Wynn: Bass Guitar Dave Anthony: Drums / Backing Vocals WHAT DO THEY SAY ABOUT US? “Their performance interwove inspired lyrics with visuals and performance. The excellent songwriting of MOSS goes straight to core of what is happening in our times. They are the modern day griots of the Western world .. They epitomise the creative act of hope.. I would highly recommend supporting this band. They are highly creative, collaborative, and what they are saying is worth listening to.” Ref; Naomi Ebert Smith, Co-Chair, Graham F Smith Peace Foundation “Moss writes and performs songs that have a little more to them than the steady diet of regurgitated emotional claptrap” Ref: John Schumann; Composer, Performer & Writer “MOSS’s forte is in writing songs that attract our attention then resonate with us every time we hear them familiar, effective styles coupled with uniquely presented sentiments of consequence inspiring us to contemplate as we’re tapping our feet. This is how a band stands out in this industry.” Jac Dalton “. Modern music as art with a message has a place in our nation and Moss may be at the forefront of this movement” Ref: Peter Withy; Marketing consultant and co-founder of KWP! “.Projected images behind the band illustrate the subject matter of most of the songs and guide you through their journey. The music has an unapologetic hat tip to the 70’s. No bad thing and their sound and show are big enough for any arena.” Ref: Pete McLaughlin; Owner of Distillery Studios, Adelaide and veteran of the London music scene.

Story behind the song
“Belle, will you still love me when I change”; Was inspired by an amazing woman, Isabelle Lake. Isabelle entered the world as Nicholas, but sadly, left far too soon aged 21, as Isabelle. At 19, Belle recognized her gender dysphoria. She was passionate and very driven to ensure that society treated fairly those who had been negatively impacted by the hand that life had dealt them. Just as Belle was fully embracing her new found self she was struck with an incredible blow, Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. She made an enormous contribution to the transgender community in the minimal time she had available after diagnosis. The West Australian community recognized her efforts and Belle was inducted into Western Australian Women’s Hall of Fame in March 2015. We hope this song continues the legacy of Belle and raises awareness of the challenges transgender people face and indeed acceptance.
