A song I wrote for the veterans that came back from wars as disappointed people who expected better from the country they fought for.

Well the "Band" is just me and whatever friends are around to record with at the time.

Lyrics
The Battle-lines are quiet, the guns will turn to rust
But the suffering and pain will never fade
You stood up for your country, never gave a second thought
Didnt realise the price that you would pay
A heroes welcome was the last thing on your mind
But you came back to indifference and hate
Why do you feel guilty, when you are not to blame?
But you walk the streets and hold your head in shame
Dreams will never leave you of the things that you have seen
Youre haunted by the horrors that remain
Will you ever get the peace of mind you need?
Or take the tragic memories to your grave
Old Soldiers never cry
Old Soldiers never cry
Old Soldiers never cry
Old Soldiers never cry
As night falls on the Cenotaph, you say goodbye to friends
Your medals growing heavy with the years
Children playing in the park dont know who you are
Forgotten hero, fighting back the tears
You remember everything you dare
And leave this world that never seemed to care
Old Soldiers never cry
Old Soldiers never cry
Old Soldiers never cry
Old Soldiers never cry
Old Soldiers never cry
Old Soldiers never cry
