The music of Lee Shapiro, which consists of a variety of styles and genres. I would appreciate if you "liked" or commented on any of the songs you enjoy.
My favorite kinds of music is the kind that surprises you. While I enjoy conventional type songs (verse, chorus, verse chorus, bridge, chorus), I prefer songs that take you on an adventure. This includes jam songs (Grateful Dead), and songs with many detours and lots of dynamics (Rickie Lee Jones, Dave Matthews). Although most of my songs tend to fall into some kind of normal verse/chorus formula, I do tend to try and mix things up a bit. Which is why most of my songs last longer than 4 or 5 minutes.

Story behind the song
Carrying a torch for someone for 30 years is a bit too much. But it's hard to forget someone that was the best relationship you ever had.
Lyrics
VERSE: Well I went and crossed that line – again this time. I went and shared too much from my heart. So much time has passed - within your mind. But for me it seems we’ve never been apart. I can’t help - just how special you were And how you were the only one ever for me But I don’t need for you to remember Just forgive and forget……Everything about me. CHORUS: Forgive and forget me And get on with your life You won’t miss or regret me Not in this life time. Forgive and forget me. Like you never knew my name. You should never get to see. This old man crying in the rain. VERSE 2: They say that time heals - all painful wounds But I don’t know if that’s always true ‘Cause I could live another - century or two And still feel the pain of losing you. I can’t tell you how perfect you were No other woman ever came as close as you. Maybe you’ll understand my hung up behavior Forgive and forget me…. And my singular truth. CHORUS: Forgive and forget me After you understand why Don’t miss or regret me We’ve already said our goodbyes Forgive and forget me Time to put out this old flame You’ll never get to see A shadow of a man who believes he’s to blame.
