Story behind the song
My band was playing at a wedding and we were grooving on a funk tune in E. The creative juices were flowing and I kept the vibe in mind until I could get home and write the "feeling" we had in the song at the height of it's creativity during the wedding. The song was named after three neighborhood guys I grew up with in Memphis, Tennessee that were friends to me. But believe me. They were not the welcoming committee for South Memphis. This is a favorite of funk lovers that like to dance and features the artistry of having two of the best bass players in the recording industry playing on the same tune--Scott Cannady on the "pocket" bass and Del Atkins on the melody/solo bass.
