This is the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Stanza of "Did man thus love as I?" from the 19th song from the 2nd Booke of Robert Jones, 1601.
The song has 5 stanzas but on 3 takes I only got as far as one stanza.
This is my best take, Take 5 that got to 3 stanzas and I sang the 1st 3 stanzas of this song on this take.
I am posting this Take 5 version of the song here and another version only on SoundCloud where I have spliced 3 of the earlier takes together to give you the opportunity to hear all 5 stanzas.
Take 4 was good and I sang the 1st stanza on it and I spliced Take 2 onto it where I sang the 4th stanza and lastly I spliced Take 3 onto it where I sang the 5th stanza.
My recordings of "Did man thus love as I?" were done from March 25, 2015 to September 3, 2015 on 10 days.
I did 5 takes of the song. The sessions went well and I think this is one of the best Shakespearean era songs that I have done. (Around the same time I was also recording XII. Whither runneth my sweet heart?" from the same booke)
This make the count total, "4 songs" (from the 21 songs in the booke) that I have posted and all the recording went rather well for me.
