An early Lennon / McCartney song that deserves to be heard again. A classy song that was a hit for Cilla Black back in the 1960s

Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
Another great Lennon / McCartney song that was 'given' to Cilla Black to sing. There are a few ways that I could have done this song. Rocky or light ?. I've chosen a lighter acoustic style with wood block and bongo persussion. It's a great song to play. The middle 8 or bridge ? takes the melody to an unexpected place. The middle section of some of these early Beatles songs are fabulous. Nobody does this these days. It's a forgotten art. I used my Eastwood Astro Cadet, Bill Nelson model for the electrified guitar parts...a Yamaha acoustic and my trusty Rickenbacker 4003 bass. Great fun.
Lyrics
Love of the Loved (Lennon / McCartney) Each time I look, into your eyes I see that there, there heaven lies And as I look, I see the love of the loved. Someday they'll see, that from the start My place has been, deep in your heart. And in your heart, I see the love of the loved. Though I've said it all before I will say it more and more, Now that I'm really sure that you love me. And I know that from today I'll see it in the way, that you look at me And say you love me. So let it rain, what do I care? Deep in your heart, I'd still be there. And when I'm there, I see the love of the loved. acoustic guitar solo... Though I've said it all before I will say it more and more, Now that I'm really sure You love me. And I know that from today, I'll see it in the way, that you look at me and say, now love me So let it rain, what do I care? deep in your heart, I'll still be there, and when I'm there, I'll see the love of the loved electric guitar solo So let it rain, what do I care? deep in your heart, I'll still be there, and when I'm there. I'll see the love of the loved, I'll see the love of the loved, I'll see the love of the loved ...

Very retro in the production! Sounds likea restored original from the 1960's. The songwriting is top notch, as you would expect from the beatles, even if it is a relatively unknown song. Great work!

Great take on a Beatles song David. I like it when ppl put their own spin on other ppls music. The rhythm track is fantasic...Indian in feel. Excellent stuff David as ever.

A blast from the past...I keep forgetting how many of these gems were written. I really like what you've done with this cover, I get a kind of "world" influence in the arrangement/percussion. A unique spin on an old classic and it works brilliantly.

Very nice, David. innovative percussion, including you going 'clock, clock' with the telephone EQ... very good indeed.
