I fight because everytime I see a problems and I don't try to solve it I'm ashamed.
I'm writing/rapping the Dumpster Manifesto -- reality from a different perspective.

I have been interested in Hip-Hop since 1995. My first album was Tupac Shakur's Me Against The World. I was only 11, but his music still managed to reach me.
I miss rap with a message. It seems everyone is a megalomaniac. So I'm doing my own thing. Hopefully people will give a sh*t.
Story behind the song
I wanted to use this line:
Can't threaten the President
told don't question the government
so no threats just an invitation to hell. :)
and I wanted to have a song that people who felt they wanted to fight against injustice but didn't have the strength could rally around.
Lyrics
Title: Against All Odds
Artist: David Tansey
Album: The American Dream
Welcome as we embark on this new era
I hope my words will mean so much they'll last forever
But regardless I have important stories to tell
And I'll speak or say I watched as humanity, crumpled and fell
We let blind people rule us hoping the world will change
We let them fool us, we need to rule us
It's time for us to stop and think and stop appreciating the gorge
Staring, not caring, nearing the brink
Of our own demise, sucking up the lies, think it will work itself out?
The truth makes me cry. We need to deal with reality.
The world's dying, need a change to our suicidal mentality
Take a step back, stop and think
Open our eyes or be surprised because we worshiped lies
Everyone dies, no second try, our reality is all a lie
Against all odds!

I wake every morning and wonder, again? I'm exhausted.
Another battle to fight. What can I say?
I was raised to fight. I have no choice but to fight.
I have no choice because every time I see a problem and don't try to solve it I'm ashamed.
//
I'm not lying, people tapping my phones
Have to leave some friends and some names alone
I'm paranoid, 'cause I know they're watching
Listening to every word that I'm rapping
I'm not scared, aware of the problems
My army's ready, a silent revolution to stop them
Can't threaten the President, told don't question the government
So no threats just an invitation to Hell
Or maybe to Heaven, see what I can arrange
Lessons to learn, time to shape up and change
It's not working, you must be blind
A billion children starving, I'm losing my mind!
What drug are you taking that allows you to forget?
Please tell me it's name and tell me where to get it
I hope I wouldn't take it, would be too ashamed
Droning like a zombie, scared to fight for a change

A friend of mine once told me they admired how I chose to live a life where I'm constantly questioning the status quo. Probing. Not accepting that this is our only fate. One thing really stuck, they said when the games end life begins.
//
To exist is easy, to live is a struggle
Spend my life fighting and solving the problems
I've seen to many children starving, begging their mother
Nothing to give them but a short life of hunger
Have people grabbing my arm, begging for help
Pleading for me to take them out of their hell
What can I do? Try to help who I can
Contemplate my life, try to develop a plan
Three billion living a life of malnutrition
Preventable disease killing many tens of millions
Not generalizations, they are real human faces
Nothing is worse than a human life wasted
Why I'm fighting and writing despite all the hate.
Dreaming and seeing a future I can even taste
So battle by battle, even if it's hard
Every single day everyday, against all odds!
//
So I fight and I fight and I fight. But you'll see, if you ever meet me, that I smile too. The widest smile you've ever seen. I love my life. I'm happy because I'm proud of the way I live. But enough chatting. Back to fighting. Against all odds!
