Welcome to the music of Carlo D'Anna's Ridiculous Dream music. Also known as "Dream Warrior" in some circles. Influences and music styles ranging from basic to progressive rock, with definite Retro seventies sound. If you enjoy the sound of Moody Blues, George Harrison, Genesis, Dead Can Dance, and others of the same style, more or less, you will probably like this music. I use quite a bit of Mellotron and acoustic fingerstyle guitar as well.

Story behind the song
A song about the place in central California where I grew up that was more or less a toxic environment that left the soul crushed.

When You are born in the land of Greed In the place where the Orchards Died. You must pledge to a Creed, with strong beliefs and a will to to survive. The fate of the child, faced to the dark horizons wild. If you live by the rules of the man, you are a slave to his evil plan. To find escape, within your mind, with others kind, If you can. If you stay, his mallet fists, you can't resist temptation blind. In those painted days of Summer, We found our way to Eden. With the blasting rays of color, we mined our way to Freedom. But it all came at cost to our weary souls And the Man's tainted plan, turned our Gold to coal. I fought from being a Token. It was hard not to be lost and broken. Though I tried to pull you out Through the most twisted route, I couldn't stop to see you fall through the hole in the floor that appeared. To leave you there, it was hard to hear your fading voice through the Door.

Fantastic story in lyrics - born in SF myself, and lived in Seattle WA for 10 years... Sadly, I wouldn't go back... Very cool song Carlo - wondering if you used your Genesis for the wah riffs :)

This place in California sounds like my hometown in Ontario. Wish I could get out. Very powerful song, performed and sung with great passion. Great lyrics delivered spot on.
