Here's my pretty faithful cover of the big 'hit' by Herman's Hermite from 1964. Don't you just love it...well I do. A great song to play and sing. Feel free to join in with counterpoint vocals... you know you want to :-)

Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
've always liked this neat little pop song by Herman's Hermits. (1964). So I decided to have a go at it. I had great fun recording this
Lyrics
I'm Into Something Good (Carole King / Gerry Goffin) 1964 as recorded by Herman's Hermits Woke up this mornin' feelin' fine There's somethin' special on my mind Last night I met a new girl in the neighbourhood, whoa yeah Somethin' tells me I'm into something good (Somethin' tells me I'm into somethin') She's the kind of girl who's not too shy And I can tell I'm her kind of guy She danced close to me like I hoped she would (She danced with me like I hoped she would) Somethin' tells me I'm into something good (Somethin' tells me I'm into somethin') We only danced for a minute or two But then she stuck close to me the whole night through Could I be fallin' in love She's everthing I've been dreamin' of She's everthing I've been dreamin' of I walked her home and she held my hand I knew it couldn't be just a one-night stand So I asked to see her next week and she told me I could (I asked to see her and she told me I could) Somethin' tells me I'm into something good (Somethin' tells me I'm into somethin') (Somethin' tells me I'm into somethin', ahhh) We only danced for a minute or two But then she stuck close to me the whole night through Could I be fallin' in love She's everthing I've been dreamin' of She's everthing I've been dreamin' of. I walked her home and she held my hand I knew it couldn't be just a one-night stand So I asked to see her next week and she told me I could (I asked to see her and she told me I could) Somethin' tells me I'm into something good (Somethin' tells me I'm into somethin') Somethin' tells me I'm into something good (Somethin' tells me I'm into somethin') To something good, oh yeah, something good (Somethin' tells me I'm into somethin') To something good, something good, something good

Very nice song and great music you have played. Fantastic harmonies and lead vocals.

I like this version too, it has more focus on the vocals and sounds very smooth. If I had to make a choice I'd agree with JO, I rather like the first version because it has more bass & drums, the vox still sit above the mix, so they don't dominate, but give it more of a kick...but that's just a personal preference.

Great cover - excellent 60s vibe - Beach Boys feel to the max :)

This one ain't bad mind you, but we liked the first one better, definitely. You can keep 'em both up, why not... let people figure out the differences tween the two..

I agree with his suggestions though, Listen People, and Tired Of Waiting. Have at 'em. JO

Right, what, you had someone tell you that you're not allowed to rock. First one's better, I agree with John. JO
