Story behind the song
Its a song about emptying a clinched fist full of shame, which is broken down by self actualization and realization that no one is perfect. It's a song directed to a friend of mine who turned out to not be such a good friend, and the hurt I felt after realizing this. I wrote this song in about twenty minutes.
Lyrics
I'm half alive, but mostly I'm dead. Built my foundation in losing confidence. I have to try to move within, But intimidation's built a picket fence. So where were you when I fell in; Into a dismal hole, I thought you were my friend. You give no clues to how you really live. You feed your empty soul with a stab at every end. Chorus: And I don't need this; I'm coming over you. Empty your shame fist broken down by truth that used to hang on your every word; Now I'm the stranger, you left out on the curb. And now I have no where left to turn, But to the bridges I had formerly had burned. There's no excuse that I've left to claim. There's no noose here for the mentally insane. Chorus Bridge: And now I fend for the life I used to breathe: a twisted scene with an excuse for everything. And now I dream of life in feathered feet: of which I'll sing until it becomes my defeat. Chorus
