Corners [V] She wakes, and its morning questions, "What am I going to do?" Her whole day has changed and her life too. She lays there looking up at the creaking, wobbling fan, repeating, "He was a cold-hearted man." [V] Her momma had her doubts and fears, pleaded, "Please end it now." Her momma cried and prayed each day and night. But she ignored her momma and her warnings too. It's only now she sees momma was right. [C] Staring at the ceiling. Her mouth a desert dry. Sees dark spots on his pillow from the corner of her eye. There's a cross above the door frame but no angles loom. Only gloom and desperation from the corners of the room. [V] First of all she'd admit it was the danger he possessed that attracted her like a moth to a flame. The bad boy through those days and nights, left her wanting more, drove the passion she had for his games. [C] Staring at the ceiling. Her mouth a desert dry. Sees red spots on his pillow from the corner of her eye. There's a cross above the door frame but no angles loom. Only gloom and desperation from the corners of the room. BREAK. [B] Reaches for the bottle lying shattered on the bed. Its sharpened teeth lay scattered on the floor. The screaming of the night before echoes in her head, this dream of hers wasn't worth dying for. [V] She sits up painfully, brushes some shards aside, she's black and blue from her head down to her thighs.
