Story behind the song
I hang around over at KVR-VST, a web site dedicated to making music with sequencers and virtual effects and synths. This month they're running a contest called METEL:THE REVENGE. Since I cut my teeth on eighties metal (Juda Priest, Michael Schenker Group), I figured I'd give it a go! My Predator Plus (now newly fitted with hotter pickups) is going through the POD and making the crunchy noises and that interesting fuzztone lead that opens the tune, The Dreibelbass is likewise going through the POD. Meanwhile, within Cubase, I've called upon Kompakt to give me a big sampled Ludwig kit, FM7 provides the floating pad, and a demo of a mono synth VST called reFX The Beast is the basis for that juicy piercing synth lead, triggered with my Falcon/Roland GM-70 combo. Title comes from the catch-phrase used by Ed Anger, the psycho opinion columist for the _Weekly World News_ tabloid.
