Introducing the greatest talent ever to emerge from the orange bedroom at my parents house. I play guitar like.... well, like a guy playing guitar. I tickle ivories. I twiddle on the computer. I sometimes enjoy beans on toast for breakfast. And in the cracks between the eating, sleeping, laughing, crying, working, breathing experience that is my life there sometimes slips out songs like these.

Story behind the song
Back in the late 1970's the Wirral, UK, was awash with creative energy. So many bands playing in church halls and redefining what was musically possible. The advent of synths and electronic recording opened up a whole new world. Out of that scene came not only "Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD)" but many other great music makers and inspirers of creativity. These include John Bleasdale, who toured the world with prog rock band 'Body';; Jimmy Rae who has penned some beautiful ditties such as 'Under a Mersey Moon'; Duncan Lewis who currently runs the succesful 'Knoydart' songwriting and photography retreats; Peter Jones, whose organ playing graces pub rockers 'Diving for Pearls'; Clive Gee, who recorded with 'Afraid of Mice'; Graham Gait, who rocks out with bands such as 'Full House', Andrew Mcauley, synth designer and electronic musician, Chris Curry, DJ and tireless promoter of Merseyside music... to mention just a few, (and of course Andy Mcluskey, Paul Humphries and drummer Malcolm Holmes.) We never knew back then where the journey would lead any of us. Pictured is Meols Methodist Church, who kindly allowed many a fledgling band to spread their musical wings. Right outside is a phone box immortalized in OMD's song "Red Frame White Light ."
Lyrics
Celebrate Our Yesterday Adrian J Pratt June 17 2022 We were young, Didn't have a clue, There were no limits, Kept pushing through Whatever came along, we gave it a try, One life to live, Never say die. Celebrate our yesterday (yesterday) Just look where we are today. Chance encounter, Unexpected door An invitation, could not be ignored No plan, year to year Here to there, There to here Celebrate our yesterday (yesterday) Just look where we are today. We didn't have a roadmap No charts or plans Followed an unseen star That never shone But here we are! I look back, Still not clear, How it was, we ended up here, Grateful, for twists and turns Where we go from here, we've yet to learn Celebrate our yesterday (yesterday) Just look where we are today. Celebrate our yesterday Just look where we are today. Just grateful for all the twists and turns Where we go from here, we've yet to learn
