There are few things as strong as a mother's love.
acoustic folk country lai
Lyricist on an endless quest for the perfect melody.
I'm afraid I can't claim to be a band, although I have been known to jump on a bandwagon from time to time. No, I'm just a humble lyricist who is in absolute awe of the composers who have stumbled into my life and bothered to wrap a melody around some of my words. I've been attempting to legitimately call myself a lyricist since I was about 14 years old. Have a listen, won't you, and let me know if I qualify.

Lyrics
Four-Letter Word Tim Keesee and Greg C. Brown Well daddy drove a tanker truck From coast to coast most every week He was gone a lot when I was young So it was just mama and me I know it wasn't easy then With daddy always on the road 'Cause while he drove eighteen wheels Mama was left to haul the load But God blessed her with a steady hand Her temper rarely stirred And as far back as I remember I only heard her say one four-letter word CHORUS And love’s the four-letter word I would always hear Mama used it like a wand To make my troubles disappear To hear her say "I love you" Meant everything would be just fine Yeah, love’s the four-letter word That I heard all the time I still recall my junior year I thought about quittin’ school I was runnin’ with the wrong crowd And Lord, we broke most every rule Never walked away from a fight And my actions took their toll Mama knew each cop by name Oh how I tried her gentle soul But she always had a quiet way She never screamed or cursed And when it came to discipline She’d always hit me with that four-letter word REPEAT CHORUS BRIDGE Well, I never blamed my mama’s ways When my direction got off track Truth be told, the love she showed Was strong enough to bring me back REPEAT CHORUS
