A harp groove with a slight Japanese influence, a lovely flute that sings atop a soft, swirling backdrop. Later, a beat and a prominent lead energize the song from mellow to determined, and then through a hint of sadness and finally, to contentment.

Saint Skin: It's not just electronica, but a mix of acoustic, ambient, and hip hop flavours. It's altogether soft, vibrant, and sometimes sobre and other times thoughtful; but above all, it strives to relax and invoke mood in the listener.

Story behind the song
The track started as that middle part, with just the synth and the drum beat. I soon realized that it sounded close to another song I did a couple years ago called "Nothing Matters," a sort of acoustic/trip hop thing. Among other things, there was a distinct, deep bassline puntuated with a wide octave "bend," and a record static loop. So "Matters Still" became sort of a sequel with a unique sound but vague references to the original (such as the bass and the static).
